Short-term Letting in Glasgow

The ASSC is concerned about the current ban on short-term letting in Glasgow. We submitted a paper to the Glasgow Planning consultation last September, and raised the issue with both VisitScotland and Scottish Government, both of whom have responded positively. We know that Glasgow planners are looking at this again, and they will be talking to both VisitScotland and their Edinburgh colleagues, where short-term letting is allowed, where it adds significantly to the visitor economy.

We have made ourselves available to Glasgow Planners and are monitoring the situation closely. Short-term letting in Glasgow fits in with National Tourism Strategy, and Glasgow needs more visitor beds. We are hopeful that short-term letting will be included in a policy document due in November.

We will be pro-actively representing the self-catering industry on this subject, and will keep you informed of any developments.
