Discussion Forum Guidelines

Welcome to the Members Forum, a dedicated space for the self-catering community to share questions, thoughts and experiences.

Welcome to the ASSC Forum

We are thrilled to give you a warm welcome to this space.

We want to take the leading role in supporting and promoting a vibrant and prosperous self-catering sector that is recognised as pivotal to the future of Scotland’s Tourism Economy.

To keep things running smoothly in our Forum, we have a few basic rules to ensure the Forum is a friendly, safe and welcoming space for you, the self-catering community.

  • Treat others as you would want to be treated
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour, political views
  • Share your knowledge. Don’t hold back in sharing your knowledge – it’s likely someone will find it useful or interesting.
  • Stay on topic. When creating a new discussion thread, give a clear topic title and put your post in the appropriate category. When contributing to an existing discussion, try to stay ‘on topic’. If something new comes up within a topic that you would like to discuss, start a new thread.
  • We ask that businesses do not use the forum as a sales platform, however, if there are questions that you are able to help with, we welcome your expertise.

The Forum is here to provide helpful, relevant content for hosts. We are not a pre-moderated forum, which means we rely on our users to report any posts that break our forum guidelines.

If you see anything that needs the attention of the ASSC team – whether it be a thread in the wrong board or content that may be in breach of our guidelines – please do report it by emailing communications@assc.co.uk.

Many thanks,

The ASSC Team.
