Breadalbane Tourism Expo – 20th March 2018

Breadalbane Tourism Expo

On Tuesday 20th March 2018 the Breadalbane Tourism Circle will be organising the 4th Breadalbane Tourism EXPO in the beautiful rural setting of Comrie Croft.  Exhibitor stalls will be placed in the refurbished Comrie Croft Barn with outdoor exhibits and displays in the adjacent Courtyard.  Vehicles can be driven into the courtyard and even into the barn.  Teas / coffees will be provided to exhibitors free of charge.  Soup and sandwiches will be available at the Comrie Croft Tea Garden.

EXPO is an opportunity for local accommodation providers and other tourism businesses in Breadalbane to meet with the dozens of suppliers who are keen to showcase the quality of local produce and to help enhance the Breadalbane visitor experience.  It is also an excellent networking venue and should not be missed!

Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017

Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017

  • The Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017, which came into effect on 27 October 2017, will now include any domestic rented property as a commercial activity and will therefore mean such properties are no longer exempt from the regulations. This change did not form part of the consultation and I am advised the DWQRS took the decision after seeking legal advice.
  • This means each supply for domestic rented properties will now be subject to a 5-year Risk Assessment (the first of which should be complete by 1 January 2022) and annual monitoring as prescribed in the regulations.
  • Members who will be affected by these changes are urged to make use of the £800 per property grant that is available from their local authority. More information on that can be found here.
  • Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 is a briefing note from Scottish Land and Estates, providing more details.
